About The Teacher:
Hi, My name is Anne Clayton. I am excited to be your child's 1st grade teacher for the 2019 - 2020 school year. This will be my 4th year teaching at Valmeyer Elementary School, though you may have heard me referred to as Ms. O'Dette in the past. I am a Valmeyer High School alumna with the class of 2006, so the opportunity to teach in our school is extra special to me. I feel so blessed to work in such a tight-knit community, and it is important to me that this sense of community carries over into our classroom. I look forward to working closely with you to ensure your child has the best year possible.

Education:
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2016. I also hold a special education endorsement for grades 1-6.
Contact Me:
It is my understanding that parents are their child’s first teacher. With that in mind, I hope to collaborate with you to ensure your child receives the best education possible.
I love to hear from parents throughout the year! Please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. I also invite you to volunteer in our classroom throughout the year.
You may message me via email at [email protected].
I can also be reached by phone at (618) 935 - 2100 ext. 507.
For a more immediate response, you may contact me via text message by texting @aclayton1 to 81010. By doing so, you will be enrolled to receive periodic reminders and updates that I will send via text message. This program, called Remind, is free and maintains your privacy and mine. I’ve received rave reviews from parents who have used Remind in past years, as it really opens up the line of communication between parents and teacher. I highly suggest signing up. (Text message rates may apply depending on your cell phone plan.)
